Practical Aspects of Peer Support and First Responder Wellness
TD Forensics and its training partners are offering a comprehensive Peer Support and First Respodner Wellness class for First Responders covering a wide range of topics.
This comprehensive multidisciplinary team of presenters will provide class participants with information on how to create and implement a Peer Support Team on both a state and regional levels. The information provided will also address the following: Implementing and running a peer team both locally and regionally, how to support peer team members on the team individually, and most importantly, how to sustain a Peer Support Team over time. Information on ethical concerns, agency concerns, and legal concerns will also be addressed. Lastly, this training will cover the topics of individual wellness and an overview of mental health as it pertains to Peer Support Teams and First Responders: Resiliency and sustainability for individuals and teams.
The mission of this training is that all participants will return to their respective organizations feeling knowledgeable, empowered, and prepared to aid in developing and sustaining their own PEER Support Team.
Expectations upon completing this 3-day course:
- Each class participant will learn from the vast knowledge of three individuals who currently work in the
fields of Peer Support, Wellness, and Mental Health.

- Each class participant will be provided with an updated and current manual which can be referenced both in class and after the participant returns to their respective organization to aide with consistency and guidance.
- Each class participant will also be provided with an updated and current workbook containing example policies, forms, and other useful tools.
- Following completion of the class, each class participant will obtain 18-POST Certified Credits in the 400 area.
